Sisters, sisters...there were never such devoted sisters

You know the saying, "You can please all of the people some of time or some of the people all of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time" ? I've been finding out just how true that is this past week. I'm trying to plan (long distance) a bridal shower for my sister for the end of next week. The problem is that I cannot manage to find a day and time that seems to be amenable to both my family and my sister's soon to be in-laws. Soooo....I finally had to comprimise. We will have the bridal shower when it is convenient for Nathan's sisters and mother and have a 'sister party' the night before Am weds...so that all of us, sisters-in-law included, can be involved. What a headache!

What to do...or how to do what to do...!?

I'm so torn. Lately, I've been feeling more and more that I need to be getting ready to move back to the Midwest. Two of my siblings have been strongly encouraging me to look into the KC area and this week, a third sibling started chiming in and touting the Des Moines area. I know that moving back is the right thing to do, but how can I leave my best friend(s) and my girls??!

I know that I'm not going back right away. I can't leave until my Grandma passes on. I've been the go between for my aunt to help with my Grandma's legal and financial affairs for the past while and can't leave while she's in such a fragile state. It's only a matter of time, but I don't know how long that time is. It could be a few weeks to another year or two.

I just wish there were some way to get Tammy, Dan, and the girls to come with me!

Born on the Fourth of July!

What a slacker I am! I've thought about updating numerous times lately, but actually doing it? Ok, so here goes...

Work has been good. The boys have been growing bigger and progressing nicely.

Life outside work is good as well. For Independence Day (btw, Happy Independence Day everyone! Our beautiful country is now 232 years old!) , Tom, Margo, and I met Kate in Logan. We then found a campsite near Tony Grove in Logan Canyon. We spent the next two days playing in and around Bear Lake. We played in the water, explored Minnetonka Cave (all 888 stairs!), and generally just enjoyed each others' company. The break was nice. It was also great to spend time with family and 'family-to-be-in-law' (as they introduced Margo in RS on that Sunday :)).

For some reason, my immune system seems particularly weak this year. I just get over one illness when my body breaks down again. I really don't know why and I guess it's kind of worrying me that I'm getting so sick so often. I hate going to doctors, though, and am determined to ride it out for now.

Oh! I almost forgot! I've had a little addition to my furry family! Figaro, a 'tuxedo' kitten...about 3 months old now, came to live with us this past month. He's a complete bundle of energy, literally bouncing off furniture, trying to climb my plants, and into any and everything. My hope is that he will be a good companion for Oliver when Gizmo leaves. Right now, Oliver doesn't want much to do with him, but I think he'll gradually warm up.
